52 Gidley Motor Yacht - 1929
Grande Dame of the Roaring 20's Miss Scarlett, commissioned in 1929 by the renowned Gidley Boat Company of Penetanguishene, revisits the grace and elegance of a bygone yachting era . Originally built on the shores of Georgian Bay with the finest craftsmen and materials of the day, she has been lovingly restored from the keel up over five years at a cost exceeding two-million dollars. Completely refit to ABYC and U.S. Coast Guard Standards, Miss Scarlett is ready for private or commercial service in the U.S. or Canada. The restored hull is a classic carvel plank-over-frame construction, overlayed with a cold molded outer skin. She is epoxy sealed inside and out to produce an extremely strong, dry hull with a virtually unlimited life span. The complete restoration chronology is available through the links below. Miss Scarlett is now offered for sale to the discriminating buyer with a keen appreciation for pedigree and provenance. Available for indoor winter viewings by appointment. |
