Westwind Yacht Sales Canada is a full service brokerage with a solid reputation for professionalism, honesty and integrity. We recognize that satisfied customers are our best advertising, and we value every opportunity to demonstrate our expertise and commitment. We may not be the largest brokerage on The Bay, but over the years we've earned a reputation among knowledgeable boaters as one of the best boat brokers in Ontario. We truly value our customer relationships as demonstrated by our lengthy list of second, third and fourth-time customers.
If you are a buyer, by all means, browse our current power and sail listings. There are some great buys from 22' day cruisers, right on up to full size motor yachts. We specialize in freshwater cruisers and yachts. Most of our listings are conveniently located at our home marina, or within a few minutes drive. We take the time to show any boat of interest, then guide you through the offer/purchase process from start to finish to facilitate a smooth, hassle-free closing, and we'll work with you on any boat, regardless of the listing broker, to see that your best interests as a purchaser are represented. The purchase of a boat is a significant financial transaction for most buyers. It makes sense to leverage the wealth of knowledge, guidance and piece of mind that an experienced yacht broker can provide.
U.S. buyers are more than welcome. Why not take advantage of the strong U.S. dollar for significant savings on the purchase of a good, clean, Canadian freshwater boat. Prices shown on this site are in Canadian dollars, which convert to US dollars at roughly 25% discount based on current exchange rates. Westwind can assist with arrangements for transport to US destinations by land or water.
Considering a U.S. purchase? Although the Canadian dollar currently trades at a discount, cross-border listings may be attractive under certain market conditions. There are many good, freshwater vessels in the U.S. Great Lakes region, and elsewhere on the continent. Westwind will work on your behalf with U.S. brokers to complete the purchase, and most importantly, help you through the process of having the boat properly landed and licensed or registered in Canada. Just let us know if you see a listing of interest. We'll contact the local broker to arrange a viewing and work with you through the assessment, offer, closing and transport phases, should you decide to proceed.
Looking to sell? Westwind is always looking to add clean, well-maintained boats to our brokerage listings. Our objective is to provide the best service for you, and the best exposure for your boat. We do not carry new boat inventory. As a result, you can be assured our primary interest is in the sale of your boat, not on moving expensive new-boat inventory. We focus on the local market, which means we can effectively show our listed boats on very short notice and deliver a level of service that buyers and sellers really appreciate. Our inventory list is often very short compared to other brokers because we focus so hard on selling. Have a look at our sales archives and you'll see how fast we are able to move our boats. And keep in mind, that a short inventory list means we can focus much more attention and advertising on your boat, and that means shorter time on the market and a better sell price for you.
We start with a personal inspection of your boat to assess the overall condition, and provide advice on pre-listing steps that you can take to ensure the best possible presentation. Extensive interior/exterior photos are taken in preparation for advertising with the largest and best known boating web sites for maximum market exposure. Unlike some brokers, we don't just "list it and forget it." We actively target our marketing to buyers in key geographic areas of the U.S. and Canada who are showing interest in your specific make and model of boat. We also provide objective feedback on buyer interest levels as the sales campaign proceeds.
Once the listing and related advertising is in place, Westwind manages the sales process on your behalf from start to finish, including coordination of surveys, mechanical inspections and land or water transport if required. Potential purchasers are pre-qualified, and your boat is shown with the utmost care, consideration and respect, and with the broker present at all times. All purchase offers are presented in writing with suitable deposit in place.
No broker can guarantee a sale, but Westwind promises every effort will be made to attract serious, qualified buyers who won't waste your valuable time. As with any sale, success depends primarily on condition and price point. We'll research industry sold-boat databases and suggest a listing price that will position your boat competitively within the current market, taking into account recent actual selling prices of similar vessels. If you elect to proceed, we will advertise and show the boat, present all offers, handle the negotiations, and coordinate closing activities such as condition and valuation surveys and any mechanical inspections, if required.
With twenty-six successful years behind us, and literally hundreds of boat sales completed, you can be confident that Westwind is your best brokerage choice in the Southern Georgian Bay area!
